Tow truck layout parameter choice
Tow recovery trucks layout parameter include overall dimension, wheel base, rear overhang and weight parameter etc.
Truck overall dimension
According to China national regulations, tow truck height should be less than 4m, width is less than 2.5m and height is no more than 12m.
Truck wheelbase
Wheelbase impacts tow truck basic performance a lot. Small wheel base tow truck mobility and pass ability is much better. But too small wheel base will increase brake and cline difficulty a lot; impact braking and steering performance, and impact tow device operation performance too. Long wheel base tow truck through performance is poor, and is hard to place tow device too. Therefore, during choosing truck chassis, tow truck manufacturer should pay attention to truck wheel base, tow device layout placement, and keep tow truck at reasonable condition.
Tow truck axle load distribution
Truck axle load distribution should meet below conditions. First, loader weight must not exceed regulations limit; Second; both side wheels loader weight should be uniform, maximum deviation shall not be greater than 3% to 4%; Third, axle loader weight should not exceed truck chassis allowed value, largest total mass and axle load should be close to original truck chassis, and total weight should not be more than 3% ~ 5% original maximum gross weight.
